Narrow Aisle Racking System, with order picking facility (man-up)
The advantages of this system, the most used storage type in its class, as follow:
The operator is always on the unload level and so it doesn’t need an additional positioning support. It offers the option of direct order picking from the pallet.
Narrow Aisle Racking System, with high racking order picking (man-down)
This storage type is only used when just one pallet is loaded / unloaded. The applied tolerances should be narrower then the ones applied in man-up facilities for the big rack heights. Horizontal and vertical positioning support is needed.
Narrow Aisle Racking System, with order picking facility (man-up) and upper guiding rail
This additional guiding rail integrated by electric connection is used for the rack heights up to 19 m. and for the racking lengths higher then 100 m. in high speed stacking facilities. The most important condition for the problem free operating of the system is to obey the very narrow ground and racking tolerances.
Pallet Racking Systems used with Narrow Aisle Stacking Facilities
Nowadays, the pallet racking systems used with narrow aisle stacking facilities are realized up to 14.200 mm. These warehouses are used for spare part storage requiring high capacity order picking besides their function of high capacity finished product. The stacking facilities are generally realized as man-up, meaning the operator goes directly to the load. The racking aisles are mostly railed. It presents a high storage capacity even in the limited storage areas with its narrow aisle structure.
